About Me

Associate Professor, Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES), and Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada Co-Director, Program on Water Governance, UBC
Keywords: water politics, water governance, political ecology, inequality and social justice, gender.
My work deals primarily with water politics, political ecology, and processes of difference and inequality as they relate to resource access and socio-ecological changes. Previous work has considered these issues in the context of development and environmental transformation in the upper Tigris-Euphrates basin. Current work investigates narrative, citizenship and governance considerations related to water use, access, and infrastructures in underserved communities in Cape Town, South Africa and Accra Ghana; and  first nations water governance in the context of Canada. I also have worked to established the International WAters network focused on research and training for water issues in the global South. www.international-waters.org. For more information: EDGES.
